I am trying to find out if anyone has experienced the loss of external sound on the iPad. I can use ear buds but v
Can't here the sound otherwise.

You haven't inadvertently set the mute switch just above your volume control? There is also another control you access through your multi task bar, do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button and your bar can be seen along the bottom, swipe to the right until you come to some controls there is a volume slider here. Let us know how you go.
