New to Apple let alone iPad 2.

Just a quick hello from a UK iPad 2 owner.

An iPad was something I always thought about but, having 3 step-children, I could never justify spending that amount of money on myself. But when a very good friend bought me an iPad 2 as part of a business deal, I'm hooked.

I've always been a windows/Microsoft/pc bod, never even had an iPod, but after having this iPad 2 a couple of weeks, I'm more impressed than I ever think I could be. The functionality but basic controls is so spot on.

I joined the forum to see what apps are worth getting and also what's possible to achieve with this modern masterpiece!

    Thanks for reading

    Regards

    Mickie

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

    Cheers for the welcome guys

Yeah, I downloaded the user guide straight away and got some hints and tips.

Just a couple of things that I don't particularly understand is that I always thought digital downloads were the way forward but when I go to download ebooks etc, I find them often more expensive than a paper copy. Can't get how you can have a book that's been printed, posted to your door cheaper than simply downloading a digital copy.

Same as music. I looked at a new CD the other day thinking it would be great to download my first ever 'official' album to find I can order the cd and have it delivered to my door for less than the price of the digital download.

I don't want to start a debate, it's probably cropped up time and time again for you here

So far so good though. Love it. Just wished I could have got the 32GB and not the 16GB. I'll just have to be cute with juggling my storage
