Thread: Hello! (with a question)

I'm new here even though this isn't my first post ha, but I don't have an iPad but I can't wait for the iPad 3 which is what I'm waiting for.

But my question is, on craigslist there is this guy selling his iPad 1 for $300 cause he needs the money, but I 'said' I only have 200 to spend on it and he said it's in great condition and everything. Here is the CL post he made:

"I have a 1st gen 32gb iPad in great condition. I have the zig zag shield installed on it so there is no scratches on the screen or anything, mostly used for the web so it really has nothing on it app wise. This is just for the iPad I bumped the price down because it has no accessories at all. 300$ OBO"


I replied saying 200 and he said he is content with that.

My plan is to have fun with it until iPad 3 is on the horizon and sell the iPad 1 for more than 200 of course I know I could on ebay (hope..) and then get iPad 3. I also have an Archos 101 android tablet but maybe I can sell both for the ipad 3, who knows.

Welcome. Sure buy it. It's a good price if it's in working condition.

Sounds good, but...for the love of Pete, take it out of the box, look it over, turn it on and check it out to be sure it works well.

If it's wooden, I think it'd be safe to say it doesn't work.

And be careful it's not stolen - we have had several reports of stolen iPads being sold on Craigslist.

It is a used iPad 1 but barely used, pretty much has no apps on it and he just needs the money but i'll check it out first of course.

Yeah, definitely be careful with this transaction. There have been a lot of people who got robbed by people claiming to be selling iPads. And of course, some people who actually had iPads had stolen ones. So definitely be careful.

I just wanted to know if this is a good price, I see on Amazon for the same one in used is like 500 so I know I can have my fun with it and sell it when iPad 3 is announced.
