    Hi All,
I own an ipad 1, and am a commercial photographer semi retired - vernontnewenglandphotos.com. I must be doing something wrong but I cannot keep separate photo albums on the ipad. whenever I download a new album, itunes erases the other album on the ipad. I'm looking to keep multiple albums and haven't found the answer in the guide. Can anyone help?
    thanks,

    Koocher

It is a sync, not copy. If you uncheck a folder it will remove it from the iPad. To keep multiple album/folders create a master folder, then create a folder for each album under that. One level down only. The iPad will sync all of them, or you can choose to sync selected folders. Any changes you make, either to the contents of the folders or your settings in iTunes will be change on the iPad at the next sync.

The sync is one way, from the computer to the iPad.

The rules for how Photos works, and possibly how iTunes syncs photos are about to change with iOS 5. I'm not sure how much, so my advice may only be good while you remain on iOS 4.3.x. Guess we'll see in 5 more days.
