G'Day
Another new member. Had my 16Gb Wi-fi iPad2 since launch, owned an iPad1 for about 6 months prior. Really liking it, however I am on my fourth due to excessive light bleed, with the current one being minor, but also having a dead pixel. Just holding off until things improve then I'll look at another exchange.
Pretty handy using the iPad, joined here to read up on any things I can do to improve my experience, if I can I'll offer up any help I can with my limited experience. Now to do some browsing......

Yikes, light bleed? What does that mean? I had horrible luck with Android phones last summer so I hope I don't have bad luck with iPads this time around! Welcome to the forum though!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!
Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Thanks guys, I'm enjoying the forum so far, hopefully I can be of help to someone at some stage. As for light bleed, it's the backlight for the LCD leaking around the edges of the screen. Only really noticeable on a dark screen, generally with the brightness at full, but my bad ones were noticeable around 60%, with patches of light along the edges and sometimes in the corner. My second one had a patch in the top right corner that went out in an arc about 1/2 an inch. I watch movies a bit and with the top and bottom black borders that you tend to get the blled was quite noticeable and distracting. There's quite a few posts on diffrent forums with pics, the issue seems to be quite common, hopefully to be erradicated soon. Not all units were affected, bit of a lottery as to what anyone will get.

Oh, bummer... I'll be on the lookout, but hopefully I get lucky!
