Hello and welcome to the forum -

If you just want to see 'how much' storage remains on you iPad2, then select 'Settings' from your front screen; -> General and then to 'About' - the 'Capacity' & 'Available' boxes will provide memory capacity & availability.

Please post back if this is not the question being asked - go luck!

It's usually the 'Other' category - files that iTunes can't identify. Frequent synchronisation seems to cure the problem; you'll find many posts about this on the Forum.

What if i dont frequently sync with itunes on my mac? Is this problem is still on or they will cleared the memory automatically if they found that this is unused memory?

I'm not sure; as you'll see, there are many posts in this Forum on the topic and even more if you Google it. The general consensus seems to be there is no sure fire way of solving the problem but frequent synchronisation comes out top as the best way forward.
