Hi, just wanted to say a big hello to all of you on the forum and introduce myself.

I am a legal secretary whose husband has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year. His speech has almost gone along with his muscles in his arms, so he is having great difficulty in communicating with people - me included.

He has been given a Lightwriter, which is very antiquated and extremely expensive, along with heavy, bulky and not user friendly by any stretch of the imagination, by the MND Association, who have now decided that an iPad is a better option for his needs.

I also am seeking to upgrade his phone (hopefully not having to pay a large down payment as he is ahead of his contract by almost a year) with Orange for an iPhone as he has a Sony Erickson, slider phone, which he is finding more and more difficult to cope with.

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!
