I just got my ipad2 and cannot seem to delete emails. Sometimes what remains after i trash the email is an empty box in the email list that will not be trashed, but remains to clog up the email. Can you help? Carlajill

Have you reset the iPad, press top and home button simultaneously until close which you slide and then when closed you press both buttons again until apple sign. If you have already done this, I'm sure someone will be along soon.

are you using a pop server or imap server?

with pop you download the email from the server, so it is removed from the server, however, with imap, it only downloads a copy, so that a copy of the email remains on the server

pop is useful if you only use one device to read emails, imap is useful if you use several devices, such a iPhone, pc, iPad etc

from what I can gather, you are using imap, deleting the local emails, but the emails still remain on the imap email server

so far love this thing. my main use is for my sm biz. i use Square for CC transactions- previously on my iphone4 but now on ipad. do a fair amount of blogging to promote my work. teach online classes. sell my work online.
traveling to Japan next week-taking a group there for a textile study tour.
will use it for a quick handy internet connection for the group to use. thinking about using it to create a virtual tour blog-for paid subscribers...
the camera and video will do the trick i think.
best aps so far...the garage band is great (house of full time musicians here), penultimate, flipboard, kotoba and word power(japanese language apps),dropbox, friendly. to name a few.

haven't looked the forum over much yet but hope it will serve to answer most questions i may have (just got it yesterday) and perhaps i can eventually answer a few as well.
