How do you get your picture size to be under 9.8kb???

i took a screenshot of my iPad stats in iTunes on my Mac Mini but the only way I can get it to under 9.8 kb is to make the image size 100 pixels by 23 pixels.
Can anyone provide assistance?

Without knowing what software you are using to edit your images, it's hard to give specific instructions.. But make sure you save the image in JPG format. When you do so, you should have a 'compression' option or 'quality' option available somewhere during the save process..

Rather than changing the pixel dimensions, just change the compression (or quality).. Raising the compression level, (or lowering the quality level) will reduce the file size of the image.. Since the iPad 'stats' image is a simple, non photographic image, setting high compression (or low quality) won't have much effect on how it looks.

currently the file is 480X78 and jpg quality set to 4 ( imjust using the built in previewer on OS X.
File size on disk is 4.6kb

every time i try to upload it just says unable to save file.
no explanation on why....

In Photoshop after you've specified the size you need do a "save for web".

I am trying to change my signature picture back to one I used before the holidays. Any body know why the computer option is greyed out on iPad?
I went to my desktop and tried but refuses to allow me to upload picture although it fufills al the size requirements. Now I love all this trying to solve a problem but this is just stupid now!! I expect I am doing somthing really stupid, but what? HELP!!!
