Hi there Mel in the house. I' m an architect by profession and naturally can't live without an iPad. Still tinkering on the idiosyncrasies of the iPad and can't understand why it can't be simpler to use, especially in organizing and viewing files. I used good reader to download PowerPoint files, they don't seem to be complete and some data and images are missing. Anyone know why?

Yeah, that seems to be an iPad limitation. I still often use the native format (and live with formatting concerns) but when I need the file to be visually exact, I export them to PDF.
