I have the YouTube App installed. It will launch, find and download video, but when I press the play button it just resets to pause. This also happens if I try to play from Safari. Any ideas on what is causing this on my iPad and how to fix it?

This to me would indicate that your Internet speed may not be very fast, but then you have said that it has downloaded, do you see the bar on the video progressing before you press play? If so, it may be an idea to reset your iPad, this will not change anything and is akin to rebooting a pc.

Hold the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you may see the power off slide appear and disappear, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. It will take a little longer for your iPad to start. Let us know if this makes a difference here.
