    how to capture selection in iPad using HTML5?

    I am working on creating a template which enables text selection in iPad. I would like to know how to capture the selected text in HTML5 code. I am sure mouse up and down function do not work in ipad. Is there an alternative? Please let us know.

    What I need to do is...
    Select a line of text or part of a line of text.
    Higlight it using a color through code.
