    Introduction

I started with a direct query re a specific on Bluetooth pairing between my iPad 3 and new Sony Xperia J smartphone.

This is by way of the introduction requested.

I use iPad for browsing, games, video and catch-up TV and an iPod for music/audio etc. WiFi is so plentiful that I don't use 3G. I have the phone and my work Blackberry if I need 3G. I've not bothered with 4G as I won't be streaming much video other than via WiFi. Some specifics are that I use SlingPlayer when I'm travelling in Europe (which is constant) and I have a few music studio apps to supplement my home recording activities where I have a lot of gear including digital multitracker (Boss) and a host of gadgets, processors and instruments. I've tried iRig and AmpliTube but have yet to be really turned on by it especially in comparison to what I can do with the stuff I already have. I was attracted by its portability however lugging a guitar and keyboards around is impractical and as said I've got something better at home. The Virtual Pro Piano and Music Studio Apps I have on the iPad are fine for jotting down ideas when travelling. Maybe I'm missing a trick with iRig/AmpliTube but I feel it's something more suited as an introduction/stepping-stone to recording etc. I'm expecting to get shot down in flames here.

    That's it.

    Hi there and welcome.

There are other interfaces, big and small, from memory you might want to look at Alesis IO dock, Behringer (xenyl or something like that but these are on the larger side) and Mackie have a mixing desk interface (anything by Mackie is generally pretty good). A search for iPad audio interfaces will generally bring up a multitude of options.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, etc. and iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the forum rules Forum rules - everybody please read!!

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) HACKING SECTION RULES - please read.

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://help.apple.com/ipad/6/ and here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for iOS 4, 5, 6, etc.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/ and for iPhone users, come and join in the discussion over at http://www.iphoneforums.net
