I have the iPad mini and for some reason it won't let me activate, I write in the apple id and it asks if you'd like to validate the phone number and email but then I get a pop up saying cant activate iMessage try again later, I've been trying for a week, does anyone know how to activate it without making a new apple id? Please and thank you

you should be able to activate email addresses for use with iMessage.
