AirPrint won't work with epson xp305

This is an AirPrint compatible printer and those on other threads seem to have sorted it, but I have it up and working on my wireless network, and can print from windows laptops wirelessly without problem. However my iPad 3 recognises it, allows me to hit print, but then nothing happens.

Anyone got any ideas? I bought it specifically as an AirPrint printer so if it can't do that it has to go back- hadn't expected to spend 3 hours trying to get the bloody thing to work! Help!!!

    Thanks for replying.

The software insall using the disk (to the main pc) took nearly an hour and included a huge download which I can only assume included updated drivers. The PC and windows laptops now print fine wirelessly, it is the ipad that wont print. After 4 hours of wrestling with something I thought was plug and play I am ready to throw the thing out of the window!

    Ideas gratefully received

    Ruth

The protocol that allows your printer to work with the laptops and the AirPrint protocol that works with the iPad are not the same; so one working does not indicate in that the other should or will.

Here is Apple's basic AirPrint support page, in case you haven't seen it. Perhaps something on it will give you an idea what to try next.

    AirPrint basics

    Good luck.
