    Texting non iPhone devices

    I just went from the kindle fire to the iPad mini. With the kindle I was able to send and receive both my emails and text messages I am very disappointed that I can't do this with the mini

    Hello and welcome to the iPF!
    You should be able to send and receive emails with your iPad. Text messages are possible between idevices.

    You can text phones from your Kindle fire? I can't do that with mine....
