Color Mail Labels - Different Colored E-Mail Accounts

Because of my job, school, personal life and ISP restrictions, I have four e-mail addresses. Some of you probably have more! I like how Apple created the unified e-mail box ("All Inboxes") aspect of the Mail app in iOS 4.0. However, it gets a bit confusing trying to figure out which e-mail is for what purpose. Color Mail Labels to the rescue!

    Color Mail Labels ($0.99 USD):
[Cydia Description]: Ever wonder if there was a way to organize your iPhone/iPod e-mail accounts the same way you can on Gmail using color labels? Well now you can. Color Mail Labels is a simple tweak that will allow you to do just that. Use the Mail Labels app [icon] that is added to your homescreen. It allows you to configure which mail accounts get colored.

Now, with each mail identified with a color, I can easily tell which e-mail is for which account:

If you back up/out of your All Inboxes, you'll see each account is coded a different color:

The set up is very simple. Buying and installing the tweak puts an icon on your homescreen. When you activate it, you get options to select an e-mail account you have loaded on your iPad (this works with both IMAP and POP accounts). After you select the account you wish to modify, you get a color-picker screen. Use HSV, RGB or Hex codes to select - or just touch within the color box (the bottom bar controls saturation).

There are many options to display the colors: big rectangles, small squares, etc. As you can see from the first picture, I chose "Colored date block" (because the color still shows when the e-mail is highlighted).

I recommend this tweak to anyone with more than one e-mail account. It aids tremendously in organization, is highly customizable and is darn cheap! It's one of my favorites, although, as always, YMMV.

Did you install this on your iPad? 1 or 2? Running 4.3.3?

My apologies for not mentioning this earlier...

This tweak is currently installed on an iPad1 running iOS version 4.3.3. However, it also ran on iOS 4.2.1 (back before I upgraded).

    Hope that helps.

I like this. You have four emails? Hell no. I have two and that is enough. One personal one for work.

I am going to get this this weekend! So I will see you then ~ you know I will need help!

The font I'm using is called Qarmic Sans, which is installable via a Cydia app called BytaFont.

By coicidence, I also uploaded an overview of BytaFont yesterday. Take a look at it here: BytaFont - Tweak Your iPad Fonts (Free)

BytaFont = very kewl (IMNSHO) ... and so is Qarmic Sans.
