There are several ways that you can transfer photographs from your PC to your iPad.

(1) You can synchronise your iPad and PC using the iTunes software on your PC and you can select which photos/albums/folders that you want to copy.
(2) If you only have a few photos to transfer, then you can email them from your PC to your iPad
(3) You can use a third-party app, like GoodReader (see it in the iPad App Store) and that will allow you to copy photos from your PC to your iPad either using WiFi or the USB connection cable that came with your iPad
(4) You can use a 'cloud storage' server, such as Apple's MobileMe iDisk or DropBox to transfer photos from your PC to the cloud storage and then you can download them from the cloud storage to your iPad. If you need to know more about cloud storage have a look at the Apple iPad website and look for MobileMe.
(5) You can use the optional camera connection kit - this will allow you to transfer photos either from an SD memory card directly to your iPad or you can plug the connection kit directly into your camera and upload photos that way.

I found the "Photo transfer" app very useful. Easy to use and allows transfer of images/videos from iPad to/from PC or other iDevice such as iPhone.

ok, i just got my ipad2, and am trying to get photos on it from my pc. i used camera connection for photos on my card, and it worked like a dream. HOWEVER, trying to use itunes to sync my photos from pc to ipad is driving me nuts! i have about 2500 pics to send, but i can't send them in folders--itunes lumps them all together, and once they are on the ipad, i organize them into diff. albums, but then can't delete the original lump bunch from itunes. i am not very computer/tech savvy, so am having a heckuva time. would like them to be in'events', as those from my memory card went to, but syncing them just seems to lump them together, and i can't organize them easily and/or delete......no way to get them organized by dates? (which automatically happens using the camera connection kit and a memory card, but these are all in 'my pictures' from ages ago.....and i don't want to transfer all of them, just certain ones and certain folders, but i don't want them lumped together.....exasperting!!! any SIMPLE solutions for an nontech person like myself? thanks

You can synchronise your iPad and PC using the iTunes software on your PC and you can select which photos/albums/folders that you want to copy. I usually use this method.

Dear Tim, I liked what you have posted regarding this topic but I am not a techy person thus everything seem so 'alien' to me. The only thing I understand is what you said in number 2. Could you please tell me how would one go about to transfer pictures from the pc to the ipad via email? Thank you for your kind attention.

I have an ipad1 and i want to use the mirroring to my hdtv...but i only see videos and photos...is there a game or apps that i can download so i can see it on my hdtv..pls help me find an apps for ipad 1....i believe that you can use mirroring on all its apps...why cant that be also on ipad1.. Help me find an answer to this question...thnx in advance...

Hi Marina - welcome to the forum!

Concerning your specific question, simply start an email on your computer, attach the desired photos (assuming that the email program you are using allows that option?), and then send the email to yourself. Once the email has been sent, open the Mail app on the iPad (again assuming that you have set of an account on the iPad for that particular email program you are using on your computer?); your photos should appear w/i that email - press and hold the image(s) and a pop up menu appears that will allow saving each to the iPad.

Please post back if the above is not clear or if you have further options - again, there are many other ways as outlined above to transfer photos to the iPad - good luck!
