I would agree that Dropbox would be a good resource to use for being able to access your files and presentations easily. I see where you were looking for magnetic card readers, and while I don't personally know of any other than Square, I might be able to provide some other suggestions if I have more information. What specific goals do you have in mind at the trade show?

Are you looking for an app that is going to help you manage clients that you meet, if so I'd recommend SalesVerge, or just something to access your presentation materials and notes? May I ask also what kind of trade show you are visiting?

You can try a very high quality 2D barcode scanner KDC300i (designed for iOS) paired with uniScan software. It will allow you to save data to Excel, but you will have to parse it yourself (hint - use Text to columns feature of MS Excel).

There are 2 part to this task:

1. Capture data
2. Parse data

1. Most trade shows have 2D barcode in pdf417 format. While neither iPad nor iPhone is capable of capturing this format with a native camera, you can use a bluetooth wireless scanner, such as KoamTac KDC300i. Data then is either saved to the scanner, or transferred to an application such as uniScan app .
2. Parsing is a bit tricky as not all trade shows follow the same format. However, if you are familiar with a data cleansing technique in Excel, and in particular "Text to columns" function, then you should be fine.

What do they use to scan pdf417 (the most common barcode found on trade show badges)? There is no tablet out there that can scan this barcode, you need a special scanner to do that.
