Thanks, I should have specified that I also need to be able to edit on the documents with a stylus-- the app needs to be capacitative.

I use audio note. It is the best app period no bull. With audio note you can record your professors talk while you are able to type as well as draw shapes and objects if needed. You can highlight key points and much much more. I am a freshman in college and I personally think that it works like a charm. In addition, I have a Zagg portfolio case with bluetooth key board. I really recommend getting some type of fast working bluetooth key board for college. trying to type on the ipad 2 is great and convenient, but you need something fast to talk notes and jot stuff down with. I got my ipad 2 for free from my church and I bought my keyboard with case for $50 dollars off of craigslist. Lastly, If you don't decided to get the audio note app at least get the Pages app. It really comes in handy.

i like notetaker hd myself. but, notes plus is best for the original poster's needs, because it can record.

i think i would recommend notetaker hd and record the notes separately if you can (recorder pro does this in the background). notes plus is nice, but i don't feel it is as accurate, and i find it a little frustrating sometimes.
