Hi all,

I bought new ipad 2 with ios version 5.1. I guess its not possible to jailbreak it. But is it possible to connect my external HDD to ipad and watch movies from it.

As long as you have an app which will read the format of your movies then you should be good to go.

Will you get the open in option so all movies don't have to be mp4

If you have an app installed that can handle the file type that you are using then the answer is yes.

I use Goflex Satellite GoFlex Satellite Wireless | Seagate the app for it plays any file recognized by iTunes/iOS, for any other format I just use OPlayer HD.
