Just DL 5.0.1 and now have only 66 mb's left. That's after removing everything I could and restarting the ipad1. I had close to 100 mb's before the new os. Help, I can't run some of my apps.

Sounds Like a bad update to me. Did you do it over the air or by Itunes? Try a total restore by plugging into Itunes. Make sure you do a back up first

You really need to be deleting some more stuff from your iPad, 66mb is nowhere near enough for your iPad to function properly, I'd be looking to have at last 1.5GB spare if poss.
