If I could add a file on my university website, I would never have to use a laptop again. I could do everything I need right here on my iPad. Does anyone think that will ever happen? I can create a Pages document as a .doc file. I just can't select it from any webpage when I need to upload it. I use the iCloud or email to pick it up on the laptop and do it that way. So I can do it, but not solely on here... It's the only thing I'd like to change.

You can do this easily using a third-party browser, such as iCab. You move the Pages file to iCab's filespace (Open In) and you're good to go....

Ok, I'll look at that, thanks. I do like Safari though, so didn't want to change browsers. I'm assuming I can alternate between browsers according to my daily need?

You can easily move back and forth between browses. iCab Mobile is nice, but it can not be made the default, nor can you deinstall Safari.
Before you can upload a file from iCab you must first get a copy into iCab. You can do this one of two ways. You could email the file to yourself, then use the Open In feature to copy it to iCab. Or you can save to the iWorks.com option in Pages, then visit the iWorks.com site in iCab Mobile to download the file.
Then you can visit your upload site and upload it. iCab Mobile will upload to most site, but there are some it is not compatible with. YMMV
Hardly a simple process, but doable.
