I really haven't noticed much in the way of faster or slower since the upgrade really. I was hoping web pages would render a little quicker, but I wonder if that has more to do with the rather small amount of memory Apple decided to put in the Ipad. I don't see me going back, and really the main reason I upgraded was for App compatibility so if for no other reason it was worth upgrading. I don't need folders (I only have a page and a half of apps as it is) and the fast app switching (I refuse to call it multi-tasking) is probably nice but it will never be what people are looking for anyhow. For me the update was pretty much a non-event, although I do wish I had that screen lock switch back .. lol.

And I did reinstall them, it didnt even open before I reinstalled that.
The safari is the same, every once in a while the time it took to load sites was way longer than 3.2.2 as if I had lost connection for a few secs when I was using 3G connection. But 3.2.2 never had that problem.
Really strange you say that...when I had 4.2.1 and my GF had 3.2.2 I noticed mine was considerably faster than hers.

4.2.1 is verifiably faster wifi for me. I use Speed Test and with 3.2.2 I averaged 12MBps with 14MBps being the maximum I get. Since upgrading to 4.2.1 I get 16MBps average with upwards of 18MBps at times. Much faster access than I had before. This is Comcast in the Rocky Mountain area, your mileage may vary depending on the ISP and network hardware.

Also, the quick switching works extremely well for me. Most of my apps remember their state and are ready to go as soon as I switch back. That of course may depend the Apps you are using. I never use Safari since I made Atomic my go to browser, it has had no problems and works great with fast switching. Almost as nice as switching between apps on the Android.

All in all the 4.2.1 upgrade has been a big plus for me.

I think it would be nice if we could compile a list of Apps that work well with 4.2.1 and those that still need fixing.

    I had the same problem.

Resolved it by disabling wifi security on the router. Not the best solution, but will do for the short term. Hope this helps.

For others perhaps try changing from WPA to WEP.
