iPad mini or Nexus 7

Yes with my testing of the 3, I did not find speed was a problem with any of them. I found the Apple smoother though. I hate ads and if that's what Android has, it would not be for me.

I think you should compared the two types, and check which you like better.
if possible, you can have them all.

I have taken my time and compared all 3. On that basis I ordered the iPad mini. I like the OS, iTunes, the dedicated apps and the quality build. I would not buy all 3 as it would really be wasting good money. I went for the most storage as possible.

I don't have a mini yet but I have the N7 and have played with the mini a couple times. All I can tell you is that the N7 is my favorite device I own and I try to use it for everything! I read ebooks, browse the web, read currents, watch movies, use google plus, play games, Facebook, twitter, use the calandar and sinc calandar and email with my Bionic, use Evernote and watch YouTube. I use my original fire sometimes for ebooks and pandora while I read, plus Facebook. Oh yeah I also use tapatalk on the N7 for forums. All I use my iPad 2 for is Evernote and web browsing. I still want the mini though... Lol. :)

Got my iPad mini today also and its amazingly light and I think I'm in love. I can tell text isn't as clear my iPad 4 obviously but the weight of the mini is so so brilliant I don't care pulls I have excellent eyesight

I haven't put it down it yet. Been playing with the iPad all day and watched a movie on Netflix too. The sound is excellent as well. One happy Apple customer.
