I had ordered an ipad Mini, canceled and just reordered again a couple of days ago. I got the cellular version, 16GB. I have an ipad 4 too, but that will be used mainly at home.
The screen on the Mini is fine, from what I've seen. I think the portability factor will more than make up for the lack of a Retina screen.
The screen looked good at the apple store to me. Seemed a bit lighter than my 3 also. I think that makes it perfect for reading, movies, YouTube and stuff laying in bed where the weight of the 3 gets to me.

Yeah after using a full sized iPad for a couple weeks and then using the mini for a few hours, I haven't picked the iPad back up yet that says something. The mini feels like it weighs nothing haha.Quote:

This is reassuring. A few days ago I had thought about returning my iPad 2 for an iPad 4 because of the better screen; although, when I checked out an iPad 4 at Best Buy I couldn't tell much of a difference from my iPad 2 (I didn't have them side-by-side, though). I was actually more impressed with the iPad Mini because of the size. So I think I will just stick with my iPad 2, and then may buy an iPad Mini when it comes out with a retina screen.Quote:

A retina display mini would enable you to see finer detail on the screen, such as small print. Letters will appear sharper.Quote:
