Grouping all apps into folders .. . apps crashing?

    Hey friends,

In the past I never used to group apps into folders, and consequently had many pages of apps that I needed to swipe through.

Recently though I organised all my apps into folders that now neatly fit on just 1 screen of my mini.

I was play grand theft auto vice city yesterday and it crashed. The played batman the dark knight rises, it crashed too.

This might be a coincidence, but it's never happened before... Could the tight grouping of apps into folders make them more likely to crash or cause memory issues?

    Thanks,

I can't imagine that's the cause. Grouping them is just visual, it doesn't even change how/where the apps reside in memory. I would attribute to coincidence.

Hi Drash11 - welcome to the forum!

I'd have to agree w/ the previous poster, i.e. doubt that your game crashes relate to re-arranging your apps into folders.

When an app (or several) are misbehaving, I usually go through the following steps:

    1. Force Close - open the multi-tasking bar (double tap the 'home buttom' or use multi-gesturing and swipe up); press & hold an app until all begin to 'jiggle'; find the offending app(s) and press the 'red circle w/ minus sign' - return to the home screen & try again.

    2. Restart - press & hold the 'Sleep/Awake' (a.k.a. power) button until a red slider appears (may take a few seconds) - move the slider to turn off the iPad; then press & hold the same button until the Apple logo appears - wait for a restart.

    3. Reset - press & hold the 'Power' and 'Home' buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears - this may take a longer time, so have patience; the iPad will 're-boot' - NOTE that none of these maneuvers will alter your apps, files, or settings.

Always works for me. Usually, I only have to go as far as closing the apps.
