I am new to apple. How to transfer divx files to Ipad. Itoones doesn't recognize them as friendly files.

the files are in a non-apple-friendly format, so if you want to use iTunes to transfer them, you will need to convert them into an Apple-friendly format.
You can use something like DVD Catalyst for that, which makes it easy to do a quick batch conversion of all your DIVX files.
