Strange return address
Hi,
I hope someone can help. On one of my e-mail accounts, the return address always was current. Suddenly, people have been getting mail from that account with the following letters added aEwszq Bhu.
Does anyone know how I can delete these extra letters?
Thanks for replying if you can help.

I'm mostly stumped, but try looking in these two places.
In your account settings under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Your account. Make sure these letters are not entered anywhere.
In your contact in Contacts. If you email address is listed there, and your name or nickname got these letters entered accidentally, that might do it.
Don't forget to look through your account settings on your email provider's site as well.

I believe it has been a hackers jest. I have also received similar emails. One of the senders contacted me via phone and told.me his contact list had been compromised. Over the past two weeks I received similar messages from 4 acquaintances. Thank goodness no malicious threats appear to be involved.

Yep, someone has hacked that email account. You need to change your password for that account immediately. Very common occurrence with the like of hotmail and yahoo.
It sounds like those extra letters may have been added by the hacker to collect any gullible responses by looking for that phrase on incoming mail to your box. They may have some sort of diversion in place to intercept replies. You may have to send yourself an email to see if it is still being applied to all outgoing emails.
Both the change of password and fixing any possible reply names will have to take place on the server side. If you have a web-based interface, you can log in and check all these things from your browser.

I agree, if it s a paid email account inform your provider so they can increase mail account security, and also choose a new password that is a Mix of characters ie: 1$5&7!aK , don't use easy passwords like names.
