Transferring photos from Panasonic to iPad

Has anyone tried connecting a digital camera to the iPad as follows
    • 30 pin/USB (male) cable - 30pin to Ipad, USB free end
    • mini USB/USB (male) cable - mini USB to camera, USB free end
    • join both USB (male) ends with a USB joiner (female/female)
Will it allow me to dowload the photos from the camera to the iPad?

Who knows, ......... I would just get the USB adapter from Apple. Unless you know what you are doing hacking wired devices into your iPad does not sound like a good idea....

Do you need this for portable use? Otherwise just transfer the pics from the camera to your PC/Mac and the sync to your iPad.....

in theory it should work. However, I wouldn't put it past apple to require their connection to have some type of authentication method that the camera connection kit dongles include.

I would say, if you have the connectors already than just give it a try and let us know if it works. No worry about breaking anything, you will just find out if it works or not.
