No. The iOS 5 update requires a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. If there is an Apple Store nearby you can usually make an appointment and have them do it for you.
Once the iOS 5 update is installed it will be possible to perform future updates without a computer; but you have to get over this last hurdle first.
