Cable gets hot

    Cable gets hot

    hello, just curious when I am charging my iPad the cable that plugs into wall get really hot is this normal?

    The CABLE gets hot? That is really weird. Never heard of that happening with any USB cable, ever. Is it a genuine Apple item?

    Yes it is genuine apple. The box that plugs In and the cable near it gets hot

    It's not unusual for chargers to get warm.

    It's hard to describe temperatures, though. I've got several chargers, so I have comparison for what's "reasonably" warm. That's vs. one time when I charged and the charger got "unreasonably" hot. In that case, I just unplugged and let things cool down. Still don't know what happened, and the charger hasn't heated up crazily since.
