If your iPad is out of warranty then this fix may appeal to you but please if any of you still have warranty, take your iPad back to Apple and they will exchange it for you. Just thought I'd throw this in here. Good luck!

I hope I'm not beating this thread with repeat replays but last night I dropped my pad while I was falling asleep standing lol
When I picked it Up and the colors were all most up I thought I was going to cry especially when I didn't buy the 2 year plan because of money.
So before I started crying lol I checked the net and I found this website and when I saw the fix that people were saying I found it hard to believe it would work but since it hurt anymore than it was I decided to try the tapping of the iPad on thet table Nd flipping over and booty smacking it and it took a couple of Ty's but it really works THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH
Try giving it 3 gentlish slaps on the back
I had the same problem just a couple minutes ago and I slapped in on the back 3 times and it was back to normal

This could be an hardware issue or with the display connector itself that's losing contact. I have stripped 100's of iPads to have damaged displays replaced. So far I haven't come across one with this issue. Will give this fix a try if I come cross one.
I grabbed my ipad while it was still connected to the charger and the screen was suddenly messed up. I tried turning it off, resetting it with no change. In frustration I smacked Ipad in the back and started working fine. Sometimes the caveman approach works.
