Charging the iPad 2 & Email

Hi guys, any assistance you could provide would be most welcome.

Firstly, I've had my iPad 2 for a while now and for some reason, whilst using it with it plugged in, it states that it's "Not Charging". Is it supposed to do this? It's very awkward not being able to use it so it can charge up. I use it a heck of a lot for work and play and having to leave it alone to charge is nigh on impossible, for practical as well as addiction reasons.

I've had a look around general settings but can't see anything relevant, is there anything on it that can stop it doing this? I'm on 4.3.3 btw, iOS 5 doesn't interest me for obvious reasons.

Secondly, I've had Gmail email set up on it since i received it and it's worked fine up until recently. Now it keeps telling that i my log in details are incorrect and i need to update them. They're the same as they always were! I'm having to use safari to retrieve them, and that's a big hassle as my work email is via Google too, so i have to log out of one to access the other every time.

    TIA.

    Paul.

    P.S. Nice forum.

Hi the answer to your first question is that most USB ports on a pc do not provide enough power to charge the iPad. However if you leave the pc on overnight with the iPad plugged in it will charge just very slowly. I use a MacBook that is about 4 years old and it does not charge my iPad so I just use the power adapter to charge my iPad, usually overnight when I am sleeping.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    Sean

For the Gmail issue, you may want to just delete the accounts off the iPad's Mail app and then recreate them. I don't know why they are misbehaving but reloading them may fix it.

Now that I've typed all that, have you tried to either restart or reset your iPad? Either (or both) of these two processes help with an amazingly large amount of iPad misbehavior.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Restarting it did the trick, thank you, much appreciated. That one was really annoying me.
