When I connect my ipad2 to my computer it says there is new version of my ipad software. I have 4.3.3 it is trying to install 4.3.5. I have done this three times the same error pops up. "There was a problem downloading the software for the Ipad. The network connection has timed out. I thought maybe my Itunes should be on the ipad2 so I did same error. What is the problem?

Welcome to the forum! There are a lot of great people here willing to lend a hand anytime. Often using the search feature (in the toolbar at the top of every page) will lead you to the answers you're looking for. If not, feel free to post a question in the appropriate area.

Please take a moment to view the information linked below my signature to get the most out of your iPad as well as our forum.

Regarding your question, often restarting or resetting the iPad can solve most issues. To restart the iPad hold down the power switch (outside edge) by itself until the red slider appears, turn it off by sliding the switch and then hold down the power switch until the Apple logo appears.

Resetting the iPad should be reserved for a non-responsive unit as it addresses other activity but if restarting doesn't do it you can hold down both the power and home buttons until the slider appears, turn it off and then back on.

    More here:

iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If that doesn't work, try deleting your current iPad backup, it may be corrupt. Without connecting your iPad, open iTunes, open Preferences, click on "Devices" and delete your iPad's backup. Reconnect your iPad and let it backup/synchronize. Then try the update again. And if that doesn't work, here are some other options:

iPad: Unable to update or restore

Others may have some suggestions as well. Be sure to post your experiences!

    Welcome again and enjoy!

Good to hear from you. You’ll find a whole bunch of iPad enthusiasts in this Forum who are only too willing to help other iPad owners and to hear of their experiences. Don’t be afraid to post any questions you may have or use the ‘Search’ button near the top of the Forum web page. I usually find I discover one new interesting and useful piece of information about my iPad every day - and often not even what I was looking for!!

Hope to hear from you soon with your thoughts about the iPad.

Have fun and enjoy your iPad

If you don’t already have it you can download a copy of the iPad manual for free.

When it comes to downloading an update, the download only option tends to work better than the download and update. If that does not help, then try disabling (temporarily) your firewall and/or anti-virus program. Be sure to turn it back on after.

Also, be certain you do not want to jailbreak your iPad before upgrading. iOS 4.3.4 and later can not be jailbroken at this time. Go tot he Hacking area of the forum and check the sticky threads (at the top) for an explanation of jailbreaking and what it does.
