The GoodReader app is $4.99, not $0.99.

I bought it anyway, but still can't figure out how to add an attachment when replieing to an email message.

    Anybody know how? Thanks.
Yes - those posts were from a while ago and I suspect they had an introductory offer on then.

If you want to add an attachment to an email then the easiest way to do this is from within the app that supports the file format of the attachment. So, for example, if you want to email an Office type document to someone and you've been working on that in Apple's 'Pages' Word-compatible app then, when you're in that app, you can email the document from there. If you select that option, a new message pops up with the document attached.

Now I don't know - perhaps others out there will help - how to *add* an attachment to an email you're authoring that's in reply to an email you've received. Nor do I know how to add multiple attachments - other than photos - to an email sent from the iPad's native 'Mail' app.

This thread was a whole load of different people talking about this topic. You simply 'reply' to a post and your post gets added to that thread.

Hope you are enjoying your iPad. Don't hesitate to post comments or questions and don't worry too much about where they are posted to begin with. We'll find them and you'll soon get to find your way around.

    Have fun

    Thanks Tim

I'm not new to forums. It's just that the conversation seemed like it was coming from one person. I haven't purchased my Ipad yet. I'm camping out tonight at my local Apple Store. My wife thinks I’m crazy.

Why are you camping out now? The iPad two came out a couple weeks ago. I went to get the new one, but when I saw the line and that the price on the old one dropped $100, I decided to buy the old one. Plus, BestBuy had two "open box" models that they knocked another $40 off. I figured if I like it and really need the new improvements, I'll get a new one and give my old one to my kids. Like I thought, they always want to play on it anyway. "Daddy, can I play on your iPad? Daddy, can I play on your iPod? Can I play on your phone?" LOL

    Anyway, back to the topic.

Yeah, it seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to open an email and attach any type of file I want to my reply. However, it is not possible natively. It seems to be cumbersome to go through a third party application and only possible to create new email messages with an attachment.

I don't know what Ncaissie was talking about. I just found this forum and thread yesterday, signed up, and jumped in.

Thanks for all of your contributions.

The mail app is like the iPod app and the printing functions. It is used by all other apps as a service app. With this logic in mind it becomes natural to open a file and then use the mail functions within the app that created it.

    Thanks Ivan.

I haven't found my iPod touch to be useful for email; the screen is about the same size as my Droid phone. However, with the iPad's bigger display, I thought it could be my primary email device. But, the attachment issue is a show stopper.

I want to know is it possible to send multiple photo attachments in one e-mail from my I pad. I have only been able to send 1 per e-mail.

Easy, just go into good reader, press the Manage files tab. Then click on the attachment or attachments u want to email, then press the email tab button.

Sent from my iPad using iPF
