If it's really forgotten, she'll have to restore the iPad. As far as I know, that's the only solution.

Yes,my daughter did this on her iPod touch. Only way is to restore. She lost the data between backups but she wont forget the passcode again in a hurry! Sorry!

If it was easy, it wouldn't be a security feature at all. She should try *very* hard to remember it. It's going to be a real hassle.

    Cool

Looking good - business as usual. She (at the age of 13!) organised the solution of the problem all alone by herself. First she made a backup. Then she pressed the home button together with the on/off button. When the "apple" appearded on the screen of the Ipad she left the on/off button. Afterwards she connected to itunes, itunes started the synchronization and asked her either to start a "new" Ipad or to restore a backup. She restored the backup - slide-unlock without a passcode was possible - and could fix a new passcode. Thatīs it.

Tell her congratulations. That complex process would defeat many people. She's obviously got the makings of a computer scientist - I think she'll be designing Apple iPads in the future. Well done!!

Hi! Question about this process. If I click restore back up . Will all the text history n everything still be on the iPad or am I going to loose everything else n only end up with files n pictures , music that's save on the back up files on iTunes?

Your daughter is a saver! Thank you! I never believe that Apple allow backup without passcode unlocked as passcode was required for transferring photos to the computer. Wow! She really got something in her!!
