Hello All

I finally broke the PC chain and bought an iPAD.

I frequently buy and then sell notebooks, PC's etc.

This is why I decided to go to the APPLE STORE and buy the Gen1

16GB unit for $350 (REFURB)

Had it 5 or 6 days now and really love the thing.

Problem started yesterday when I power up or down there is a

distinct snap or pop sound. I have not changed any settings or anything?

This may be the start of a very big problem with this refurbished unit.

Have any of you folks experienced this? I'm just too new with this device

to know. Working fine otherwise.

This is completely normal - it's the regular 'Power Up' and 'Power Down' sound. Perhaps, earlier, you had the Mute button activated (by the volume control) which supresses 'System Sounds' such as this.

Anyway, no need to worry..
