    Hey All,

Our Large IT company is about to issue us all (3,500) with iPad 2's so I am just preparing myself by seeing what support is out here for us all.

In meantime though, my girlfriend already has an iPad and has had it for many months now and to date has never been able to play music on it. She sync's music from her PC. When she goes to iPod app on iPad it says there is no music and at same time creates an empty playlist. She as now done this 16 times and has 16 empty play lists. However when connecting her iPad to another persons PC which also has iTunes, iTunes on the PC can see her songs and she can play them...

    any Ideas ?

    Love the avatar....

OK - does your girlfriend have the latest version of iTunes? You need at least 10.1.2. Where is the music located on her PC - is it in the default location?

Are you saying that, on the other PC, iTunes on that PC can see the music on your girlfriend's iPad and can play that music on that PC?

    Hey Tim,

She recently upgraded to 10.1.3 and YES on the other PC, iTunes on that PC can see the music on her iPad and can play that music on that PC.

    Hey Tim,

The current location for the music on PC is:

    C:\Users\{User}\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music

As where it is on the iPad, we don't have a clue. How does one find out where it is stored ?

OK - let's try some easy stuff first....

The easiest first way to try to solve ‘unexplained’ or ‘unusual’ problems with the iPad are:-

Force the offending app to close. If you have iOS 4.2 or 4.3 double-press the ‘Home’ button to bring up the multi-task bar at the bottom of the screen. Press *and hold* any icon until they start to ‘jiggle’. Then tap the top left-hand corner of the app that you want to close. It will ‘disappear’ from the list. Don’t panic - you’ve not deleted it, just closed it. Now tap the Home screen and the multi-task bar will disappear. Re-open the iPad’s app and see if the problem has resolved itself. If not, it’s on to possible solution number two!!
Restart the iPad. Press *and hold* the Power button. After a couple of seconds a slider control will appear asking you to confirm that you really want to switch the iPad off (this is all you’ll be doing). Slide the control to accept. A rotating white ‘bezel’ will appear in the iPad screen as the iPad powers down (it takes a few seconds, just like it would if you were shutting down your PC). When the screen of the iPad has gone completely blank, press *and hold* the Power button for a couple of seconds until the white Apple logo appears and the iPad starts to power up. This takes several seconds, so be patient. During the power up the automatic screen orientation function is disabled, so don’t panic. A few seconds before the power up is complete, the iPad plays a little ‘jingle’ and then you’re back to the Home screen. Restart the iPad’s app and see if the problem persists. Apple (and Forum members) recommend that you power down your iPad at least once a week, just as you might regularly completely switch off your PC. The normal procedure of just briefly pressing the Power button of the iPad merely puts it to ‘sleep’. Most Forum members have found that one of the two methods I’ve mentioned here cure a whole bunch of unexplained problems and are an easy first step to resolving most anything that happens on the iPad.

she might miss one step, that is checking the boxes like sync all songs, or sync selected song. under those options are several boxes too. playlist, songs, albums artist and so on
Fate is not by CHANCE but by CHOICE.

    Hi Guys,

    Some feedback on current status:

    Upgraded iPad to 4.3.3
Upgraded iTunes on PC to 10.3.1.55

Then we set setting to Sync all music and ran Sync.
It successfully sync'd photos and Apps. However clicking on the iPod app it opens up with message saying "you must sync with computer before you can use music". However we can see the music on the iPad through iTunes on her PC.

On iTunes on the PC, the summary of the device at the bottom shows 1.5gig audio on the iPad. However in general settings on the iPad its shows number of songs = 0.

Will having 2 iTunes accounts cause a problem ?

Am starting to think it should be called "Loonytoons"

    any other ideas ?

OK - I've moved this to the Help section now as I think we've moved away from the Introduction stage.....
