I have moved your post to the Help section, as I think it will receive better attention there. I hope this is OK.

Here is Apple's help page on the issue.
iPhone, iPad and iPod touch: Syncing photos via iTunes
You might want to grab the iPad Users Guide too. It is full of stuff like that. You can get a PDF version from the iPad support site Apple - Support - iPad or download it from the iBooks Store using the iBooks app. Both are free.
The Photo Transfer app allows you to use your browser for transfers.
That said iTunes is the cheaper solution.
A useful tip is to pre sort your photos into separate folders before loading them into iTunes, as it's hard to arrange them once they are on the iPad. e.g. Family, Holiday, Pets, etc..
With iRip 2 software.

One suggestion: get the photo sync app loaded on your iPad as well as your iPhone. Then go to their website and download it free to your PC. Then you can take pictures on iPhone and sync them to your PC and iPad wireless!Originally Posted by anlemon
You can sync from PC to phone and or iPad as well. It works beautifully!!
I also use Picasa photos web albums.
