I tired the quicktime to save to m4v. it actually says it cannot save with that ending. I can choose to save either as .mov or m4v.mov (both)
Would I be doing something wrong?
Thank you
Hi I converted an avi file using H.264 Encoder - and somehow it saved the file as mp4. I removed it from my Movies Library in iTunes and renamed the file to m4v in Windows Explorer. I connected my iPad to let it start syncing - and dragged the m4v file to the device in iTunes - and it shows up and plays fine on the Pad now. I hope that helps.
Convert video to H264 for a try.
Usually, iPad does import and play MP4 files. However, sometimes you will fail to transfer MP4 to iPad let alone to play MP4 on iPad or iPad2. This following will describe the reason why we fail to transfer and play MP4 on iPad and the solution on how to successfully play all kinds of MP4, HD MP4 on iPad or iPad2 at How to Play MP4 on iPad, iPad2, iPhone or iPod?
Make sure in the sync options in iTunes, you set the option to also sync your videos. Then just resync.
And there are step by step articles about iPad Video Transfer on PC and Mac.
For PC: How to transfer movies/videos from iPad to Windows
For Mac: How to transfer music/video to iPad on Mac OS
Hope these can do you a favor.
