Sorry if this has been covered anywhere else... i have been trying for the last 10 hours to upgrade the OS from 3.2.something to 4.3 (i think it said)...
I went out this afternoon and left it running, and when i got back it appeared to have frozen, so i held down the home and on/off button and then replugged it back into Itunes, and its asking for a restore, however it now seems to be frozen, with the progress bar having moved about a centimetre across, and no further in the last 30 mins.... any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated!

If this were me I would reboot the computer, and be sure I am using the usb cable that came with the Ipad, not the ipod or iphone usb cable.

thanks, i have now uninstalled itunes, reinstalled in, am now using the correct cable (didnt realise using the ipod cable would make a difference), plugged ipad (16gb wifi) in again, it looked like it was doing something (verfied ipad, extracted files, started restore) however it now just says restoring ipad software (in itunes) and i have a apple and empty white bar on the device itself?!
help!!!

You should see the Apple and the white progress bar in the last few steps of the OS install: but can you actually see progress in the bar itself?

It will be best if we could try to upgrade to the latest OS version.
