Anyone have This issue. My iPad (new in Dec) has had great life( length of time before it depletes) this weekend I was in Boston, in a hotel, used their wifi...no longer holding a charge well at all! Maybe a coincidence, but I fear not. Any thoughts? Thanks. I' m so upset!

First, it might just be battery calibration.

Charge your iPad until it indicates %100. Then use it until it shuts down by itself. Watch some movies, play slide shows, whatever. This could take most of the day. After it shuts down by itself charge it to %100 again.

Now use as normal. If the battery is still giving you problems contact Apple Support. You may have a battery going bad. It happens, even to Apple products.

My daughters iPad will not even switch on after she shut it down after she noticed it was dragging it's feet whilst in the AppStore. Will you please hop me?

First, put it on the charger for a while, just to make sure it's got a good charge. An hour should be more than enough.

Then, hold down the power and home button until the Apple logo appears, about 10 to 15 seconds. Let go and wait for it to reboot. This will take a few minutes, so be patient.

This is called a soft reset, and often works for problems that restarting won't cure.

Thank you I will give that a try. I have been so delighted with the battery life, it's a real downer to suddenly have it drain quickly like everything else.

Make sure you are closing down apps that are left open. This was killing my battery like crazy last week. I was using the apps and then pressing the menu button to 'close' them down but since it leaves them running, they slowly kill your battery. The more apps you have open, the faster the battery dies. I ended up with 5-6 hour battery compared to 10-12 hours normally. After closing down my apps, I saw immensely better battery life.

This will sound stupid but how do you close them ? I thought when you hit the home button they closed since it doesn't do true multi task

Double tap the Home button and the bottom of the screen should become a swipe-scroll listing of all open apps. Hold your finger down on one of the icons, and they will start to wiggle, and a red circle will show up in the corner of each icon. Tap that to close the app. Double-tap the Home button again when finished!
