    Multitasking?

    I'm a bit new to the iPad.

    I installed the latest OS firmware, which should allow multitasking. How do I go about switching between programs without hitting the start button and then bringing up another app?

    What you have just described is precisely how "multi-tasking" works in the iOS environment.

    Yep, that is the multitasking experience you gained with OS 4.2......

    iPad 32GB + 3G
    iPad 16GB
    iPhone 4 16GB
    iPhone 3GS 8GB
    OtterBox cases on all

    double tap then select the app. If you get too many apps open then just double tap home button and then hold finger on one of the open apps. You can then shut some down.
