I'm a newbie and my first app is to download Arkansas Democrat Gazette. Being on a slow satellite connection, however, makes for a long download. Yesterday's Sunday edition took more than an hour and I was constantly checking to make sure that the screen was lit -- thinking that if it goes into power save mode that the download ceases as well.

How does it work? Should I change the power save to "never", then change it back after long downloads?

ps: This morning's download took some 10 minutes, much better. Course, it was a smaller paper. Plus, I moved the iPad from the kitchen to the room with the wireless router.

no you can close the screen, even use other apps it will continue to download in the background. If it is an in app download you may have to leave that app open....but the screen can be turned off no problem.

So, I can put the power setting to 5 minutes begin the download and go back to bed without worrying about the download stopping?
