Good morning,

I just got my iPad and loaded the Kindle ap from Amazon. However, no icon appeared on my desktop. I went looking and found Kindle listed in "Settings," but could not access it.

The iPad is my first Apple since 1989, so any help would be much appreciated.

Load the Kindle app from the app store, not from Amazon. You can also load Amazon Windowshop and Amazon Kindle--two great apps.

I did load the Kindle ap from Apple ap store--loaded iBook also--but no icons for either ap appeared on my desktop.

So, how do I get icons for these aps to show up on my desktop?

dumb question here, but did you go to any of the other pages on your ipad? I know at least on mine even when there is room apps always get installed on the next page with space

If you have more than 11 pages some of your applications will not show up on your desktop. When you sync wth iTunes you can arrange which apps show up on your iPad desktop by dragging them around to pages 1-11. The other pages that are greyed-out but on your iPad will show up in iTunes but not on your iPad desktop. All you have to do is search for them. The other thing you can do is consolidate some of your apps into folders (IOS 4.2 only). You can then get to see alot more apps on the desktop.

I'm in Singapore. When I search for Kindle in app store, I cannot find the app. Is it country specific, as with how it was when I downloaded it for my Blackberry?

Silly question.... how did you download the Kindle app, using iTunes on your PC or by using the App Store on your iPad?

If you downloaded the apps using iTunes on your PC, you will have to sync your iPad with your PC to copy them to your iPad before you can use them.

I just got my ipad, downloaded Kindle, and do not have an icon. How can i get it to appear?

Also there is a setting, under store in settings on the iPad, where you can choose automatic downloads. It is available on your computer iTunes as well. This will sync new buys without connecting iPad to computer. Also check out the purchased tab in the iTunes store.
