I personally have not used this program, but some people here have used a program called Backoff to sync without backing up. BackOff Speeds Up iTunes Sync for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

I use a program called iPhone Backup switch, i never had a problem with it. Plus you can enable and disable when ever you want. If you need a link let me know....

I've also use BackOff for a long time with no problems.
