Hello - am new here hoping to avoid nuclear option- deleting my BBC iplayer app

Lots of hours of downloaded programmes on my IPad via BBC Iplayer have disappeared. I downloaded a bunch of programmes in readiness for a trip and now I am away they have all disappeared. Except I know they are on my IPad because of the space they take up. And they haven't expired, they all had *30 days to run when I left the UK last week. My only option seems to be to reinstall the app but then I lose all the data. And the BBC doesnt reply to my request for help either. Any ideas?

At a guess, its because your no longer in the UK, iplayer playback is restricted to the UK only. Unless you get the paid for international version.

Does iplayer download playback still need a internet connection? Could try a vpn to trick it into thinking your in the UK.

The iPad doesn't need to access the iplayer to play downloaded programmes so it does not care where I am once downloaded.
That is not the problem but thanks anyway.

I was just on the BBC iPlayer website and according to them, you should be able to pay your downloaded content anywhere in the world. If you can't, then there may be a problem with your iPad or the downloads themselves may be faulty.

The BBC app lets you download and watch after without a connection, but if you press play on any download, it's supposed to expire within seven days. Have you previously played these videos, even just testing them?
