    Downloading from github

Hey guys, i just downloaded this tweak from github: htt ps: // github . com/RalphBln/SwipeSelection
But how do I install it now on my jailbroken iPad?

I understand I have to compile it and then what? The tweak is on a Cydia repo, but this tweaked version at Github is much better for my needs.
May someone give me a help on this?

    Thanks.

OK, well after you compile it for IOS, you package the app up into a deb file. Saurik gives instructions on this on his website from the very earliest days of Cydia - How to Host a Cydia™ Repository - Jay Freeman (saurik)
After you have the deb, you can simply SSH it over to your device and install it with the terminal command "dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file.deb". Assuming you got the package details correct, it should install like any other Cydia app / tweak.

If you need help getting started on compiling apps for IOS, the easiest way to get going on OSX is with XCode and the official IOS SDK. If you are on Linux or Windows it's a bit more of a challenge if you are just starting out, and probably not something I can guide you on in this reply... Sorry. But if you have a good google around with a query specific to your setup you should find lots of guides which go into enough depth to get you started.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks.
When I downloaded the .zip file from Github it came with 5 files: control, Makefile, make.sh, Swipeselection.plist and Tweak.mm

I have a MacBook and have downloaded Xcode already. Problem is, I cant compile it. The Makefile and control are both executable files, but when I click on them, I get lots of ˜unknown command˜
Opening tweak.mm on Xcode, the options are mostly greyed out.

OK, but if concepts like Make are new to you, then you are coming from too far back for me personally to easily explain to you how to compile your own tweaks trouble free in a post here. It's not a question of just correcting a setting and pushing a button. You probably have a fair bit of setup to do yet.
I would honestly recommend, as I stated previously, some googling on the subject of setting up your own development environment for IOS and compiling Cydia tweaks.
Maybe one day, we'll be able to get our own set of tutorials written on the subject for the forum, but until then, google is your friend

Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment. Maybe some of our other members will be able to chip in with something....
