I am using an iPad password this long for Root and Mobile
************************************, however when I enter a shortened version of it, the iPad accepts it when being SSH'ed into.
Any ideas?

I think it is not security IOS issue - just one of IOS limitations.Originally Posted by biobunny
I think you exceeded maximum password length. I'm using public key authentication with disabled password authentication for ssh'ing into - it's more convenient.

I agree. iOS probably just cuts off the extra characters.
A password that long is completely unnessary. Even just a five letter word is extremely hard to crack.
I've just chosen that password so it syncs up with my "Lockscreen" password. Well I'm a bit paranoid. But too bad, and thanks for the explanation.
